The 4-day week at dissol GmbH
More time for life – at full performance
Since July 2023, dissol GmbH has adopted the 4-day week. This means we work from Monday to Thursday, and every weekend starts as early as Friday.
For us, however, more free time does not mean less performance. Working hours remain unchanged – our full-time employees continue to work 37 hours per week, spread across four days.
Efficient working hours rather than less work
The introduction of the 4-day week does not change the workload, but rather the structure of working time. Through a more focused way of working, we distribute our tasks efficiently across four working days. In this way, we combine productivity with a better work-life balance for our team.
Insights from international pilot projects
In recent years, the 4-day week has already been successfully trialled in several countries, including the UK and Spain. Many companies drew a positive conclusion following their pilot phases and have retained the model permanently. In Germany, too, this working time model is gaining increasing significance and is being discussed intensively.
Our approach at dissol GmbH
As a company, we are open to new working models and have deliberately chosen to trial the 4-day week. We expect this to bring, above all:
- a better work-life balance for employees
- higher satisfaction within the team
- more efficient work organisation
- as well as possible savings on energy and operating costs
A benefit for new employees too
For us, the 4-day week is not just an internal model, but also an attractive argument in recruitment. It can be an important factor for new colleagues in choosing dissol GmbH as an employer. In this way, we combine a modern working culture with sustainable personnel development.
