What is UV disinfection?
UV disinfection is a physical process for the reliable inactivation of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and germs. It uses UV light to damage the DNA of these organisms, preventing them from multiplying.

How does UV disinfection work?
UV disinfection utilises UV-C radiation, a high-energy part of the UV spectrum that is invisible to the human eye. UV radiation is divided into three bands: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. Only UV-C radiation is used for disinfection, as it has the greatest energy-related effect on microorganisms.
